Borough Park Improvements

​Thanks to a DCNR Park Grant, American Rescue Plan Act Funds, Northeast PA Lions Service Foundation Grant and a donation from the Paxtang Lions Club, we are almost completed with Phase 1 of the Saussaman Park Improvement Projects!​

The Phase 1 improvements included: 

• Removal and replacement of existing play structures and installation of safe landing areas surrounding all equipment. 

• Reconfiguration of the existing parking area to provide for van-accessible handicapped parking.

• Creation of ADA accessible pathways from the parking areas to the restroom facility and the upper pavilion.

Added feature 2024: The Tennis Courts will soon be 1 tennis court and 2 pickleball courts.  Scheduled for completion first week of November.​

Additional Thanks to our large group of volunteers from AMAZON, on Friday, August 16, who painted the building, pavilion, refreshed the ground area at the picnic tables and weeded the Rain Garden!  (details and photos to follow)

The plans for Phase 2 will include a new fence at the tennis/pickleball courts, new roofs on Building and Pavilion, more paved pathways, and improved bathroom facilities.   As in Phase 1, we will rely heavily on grant funds for Phase 2 plans.
